Technical Advisor- Rationale Medicines Use (Baylor College of Medicine Children's Foundation Swaziland)
Through the TSP Program, Baylor-Swaziland and Baylor-Malawi are partners in continuing the Systems for Improved Access to Pharmaceuticals and Services (SIAPS) program in Swaziland. The new project, Swaziland Supply Chain and Pharmaceutical Assistance for Sustainable Systems (SC+PASS) seeks to improve the delivery and consistent use of HIV, TB and other reproductive health commodities and essential pharmaceutical services to achieve desired HIV, TB and SRH health outcomes.
The Technical Advisor Rationale Medicines Use (RMU) is responsible for planning, implementation and evaluation of all SC+PASS Rationale Medicines Use activities related to improving quality, safety, effectiveness, and rational use of medicines in Swaziland. Reporting to the Pharmaceutical Senior Technical Adviser, he/she will provide technical assistance to the Ministry of Health (MoH), Implementing Partners, and other stakeholders in the areas of Pharmacovigilance, Active Drug Surveillance Monitoring (ADSM) and RMU especially as they relate to HIV and Tuberculosis (TB) in addressing regulatory and rational use issues of medicinal products for those conditions. He/She will assist the Office of the Deputy Director for Pharmaceutical Services (ODDPS) in the design and implementation of technical approaches, tools and advocacy events related to the promotion of medicine regulation, quality, safety and rational use. He/She will contribute to the SC+PASS Swaziland program in being responsive to the MoH and achieving agreed targets. He/She will ensure efficient usage of the SC+PASS Project resources, in order to meet the set objectives and as well maintain the standards and expectations of Baylor College of Medicine-Bristol Myers-Squibb Children’s Foundation (BCM-BMS CF) Swaziland. This position will be stationed closely to the office of the Deputy Director for Pharmaceutical Services and shall technically report to the SC+PASS Senior Technical Advisor (STA) for Pharmaceutical Services.
