DATE: Wednesday, May 20, 2020
TIME: 9:00 AM EST | 16:00 EAT

PrEP implementation for PBFW is an HIV prevention strategy that could help reduce HIV infections among women and prevent MTCT in settings with high HIV incidence. PEPFAR’s PrEP community of practice commissioned ICAP and the AIDSFree project to convene virtual discussion groups among HIV and maternal child health (MCH) stakeholders in Eswatini, Kenya, Mozambique, South Africa, Lesotho, Malawi, and Tanzania to understand barriers and facilitators of PrEP implementation among PBFW.

Presentation Objectives:

  • Review the importance of HIV prevention for PBFW and PEPFAR’s PrEP strategy for PBFW
  • Summarize the status of PrEP implementation for PBFW in the selected countries
  • Highlight promising practices and identified barriers to reaching PBFW with PrEP at national, sites and community levels
  • Discuss future directions for integrating PrEP into MCH platforms
