Acting on the Call: Ending Preventable Child and Maternal Deaths

On June 25, 2014, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Governments of Ethiopia and India, in collaboration with UNICEF and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, will come together for a high-level forum called Acting on the Call: Ending Preventable Child and Maternal Deaths. This forum will celebrate the progress made, assess the challenges that remain, and identify steps needed to sustain our momentum into the future. This event marks the 2-year anniversary of the Child Survival: Call to Action and coincides with several related events happening this summer.

In order to drive action and sustain momentum, USAID and partners are launching a social media campaign today called “20 Days of Action for #MomAndBaby.”

There are a number of ways to participate:

  • Post a photo with your child, or with your mom from when you were a child, on your social media accounts using the hashtag #MomAndBaby.
  • Share sample content on your social media channels using #MomAndBaby.
  • Participate in a photo contest of photos from around the world answering the question “Why are mom and baby doing fine?”

Please visit the Acting on the Call web page to learn more about the social media campaign 20 Days of Action for #MomAndBaby leading up to the forum, and to view more event details.
