Today, USAID launches the Child Survival Call to Action - Every Child Deserves a 5th BirthdayTogether we will end preventable child deaths.

This is a big deal for USAID. And you can – and should – be a part of it.

So, how can you be involved?

  1. First, watch the introduction video.
  2. Second – and most urgently and fun – find and upload a photo of you on your 5th birthday (or when you were five). We’ve got nearly 1,000 photos up of development champions – experts, celebrities, and USAID staff. This is fun, but it’s also a poignant reminder that too many children in the world don’t make it to their 5th birthday. And you can help change that.
  3. Read – and Tweet – about it on Twitter, using hastags #5thBDay#Promise4Children. This is also both fun and informative, and raises and amplifies awareness. Please tweet and retweet!
  4. Take a look at - and forward to others - the Roadmap for Child Survival.
  5. Watch the Call to Action launch today and Friday, live.
  6. If you’re in DC and would like to be put on the waiting list to attend the Call to Action in person at Georgetown University tomorrow and Friday, write to 5thBDay@usaid.gov.
